The Historic Dockyard Chatham will proudly host Armed Forces Day 2026.

As one of Britain’s most significant military locations, the Historic Dockyard Chatham provides the perfect setting to celebrate, commemorate, and show support for our Armed Forces, both past and present.The day will be filled with family-friendly entertainment and historic tributes that showcase the courage, history, and heritage of our Armed Forces.

Event highlights include a Military Parade featuring serving personnel, veterans, and cadets. Military Vehicles & Displays offering an up close look at equipment past and present. Visitors can look forward to live music performances throughout the day, interactive have a go activities, exploration of the Dockyard’s Rich Naval History through immersive galleries, ships, and exhibits.

With a Royal Navy shipbuilding legacy dating back to the mid 1500s, the dockyard perfectly reflects Medway’s deep and enduring connection to the armed services, making it an ideal setting to honour their dedication and achievements.

Performance Dress Code:
Casual purple, black and white clothing - Soul Choir t shirts and hoodies if you have them, please. We ask for no blue jeans to be worn at any event and that anything purple is true purple and not blue - as close to Cadbury's purple as possible. No bold or colourful patterns but lace and subtle embossing in the colours mentioned above are fine.
Members Information:

*PARKING UPDATE* There's been an update in information about parking for tomorrow's event. The main Visitor's Car Park is only accessible to Veterans and Blue Badge holders - please show relevant passes on the gate if this applies to you.

However, free public parking is being supplied at Greenwich University's Medway Campus, a 10 minute walk from the Dockyard - it will be well sign posted and please build in additional time to arrive in time.

Central Avenue, Chatham Maritime, Kent ME4 4TB

Public transport - please use buses 100, 101, 162, 190, 191 and 121 to attend this event from Chatham Town Centre.  Other bus lines passing the site include 116, 191, 100 and 151.  Drop-off points are either Dock Road (Main Gate) or Chatham Maritime (Main Visitor Entrance) depending on the service.

Please meet promptly, ready to sing, at 10:15am at the 'rolling' gate which is the Exhibitor's Entrance, Main Gate Road, ME4 4TY - this is the yellow rectangle, just to the right of the main visitors entrance on the attached map.  

*Please note - if you are not at the main gate for 10:15am you will not be able to enter as we're being walked through as a group  - thank you!*

Supporters info - unfortunately, we weren't informed that free timed-entry tickets would be required for attendees; we were only told that it was a free event and tickets have now sold out.

If supporters would like to attend, they can add themselves to the waiting list via the event website HERE
