Mikey Robinson
Having trained as a classical pianist and singer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he has gone on to perform all over the world, in the widest range of musical genres as both singer and pianist - often both at the same time (!!) - in international venues such as La Scala Milan; The Chatelet, Paris; Lincoln Centre, New York; Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and The Philharmonie, Berlin, to name but a few. He spent 3 years ‘dooby-dooing’ with renowned a Capella group The Swingles (actually it was more ‘ba-va-dah-ing!!). He then went on to spend 3 years with The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company at the Savoy Theatre in London. Subsequently he has spent much of his time travelling the world with various companies, appearing at Abbey Road for many a recording session, performing all over Europe with his vocal trio Closer, and more recently sailing the high seas with Tenors UnLimited on the Royal Caribbean fleet. Mikey has also spent many years as a teacher and vocal coach, working with established singers and young rising artists of the future. He even gets to coach the occasional rock star! In his spare time he loves to cook, drink fine wine (ok, any wine!), travel, particularly if it involves work, and is a missive lover of cinema. And as a ‘newbie’ to the Kent coast, he can’t wait to jump in the sea regularly, and especially see his little Bosnian rescue pup - little Mamie, who was adopted by him and Sammy, in September ’24 - have the time of her life!
