Michael Bascom

Tenor Michael is an accomplished Composer, Conductor and Performer and leads both the West Kent Soul Choir branches in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. His infectious energy and enthusiasm has created a wonderful musical and social bonf in the West Kent area.

Michael Bascom is a British composer, conductor, performer and producer based in Tunbridge Wells in the Southeast of England. Since completing his education in Music (BA, Univ of Cambridge) and Opera Making (MA, Guildhall School of Music & Drama in association with the Royal Opera House - scholarship holder) he has written for stage, film and the concert platform. He has written and produced several shows, performed at numerous venues such as The Barbican Centre in London and the National Auditorium in Madrid and directed at Pentagrama Academia in Madrid as Director of Choir and Ensembles. A keen advocate of community arts, he helped found the Tunbridge Wells Fringe Festival and currently assists with the Tunbridge Wells International Music Festival. He lives in Tunbridge Wells with his beautiful, singing Greyhounds!

UK Soul Choirs is a professionally run inclusive community choir operating across South East London and Kent. There are no auditions, and no experience is necessary to come try us out. Members get to learn and sing great songs each week and perform with professional musicians in an end-of-term performance. We offer fully inclusive online learning resources, a community-led social programme and a range of membership plan options to suit member's different priorities.
