UK Choir Festival Weekend Trip
We have decided not to run our annual summer Festival of Singing this year. Instead, we are delighted to offer our members the opportunity to attend the UK Choir Festival weekend being held in St Albans from Friday, 16th to Sunday, 18th October!
We took a small group last year and I think they would all agree it was a fantastic trip - working with and learning from incredible singing practitioners and professional leaders from all over the country (our very own Abi was part of the wonderful team last year!).
This year, the Festival is celebrating its 10th Anniversary, so they are hosting a full weekend of workshops, ending in glorious style with a grand concert in stunning St Albans Cathedral!
As the festival takes place in Hertfordshire, we have put together a two-night package which includes coach travel, accommodation and a full weekend of workshops and concert participation ticket.
The workshop days comprise sessions with some of the country’s top choir directors and leaders, and choirs travel from all over the UK - and even the world - to take part. The line-up is fantastic, and you can see what to expectHERE
What's included:
- Friday, October 16th, 5pm - coach collection from either Canterbury or Rochester (exact times tbc)
- 2 nights accommodation in St Albans Travelodge, City Centre
- Saturday, 17th October, 9am - 6pm - Day one of workshops, (The hotel in very central and a short walk to the venue) *
- Sunday, 18th October, 9am - 10pm - 2nd day of workshops ending in St Albans Cathedral concert where each choir performs 1- 2 songs(assuming we have a large enough choir)
- Return coach travel back to collection points
* We will arrange somewhere for dinner on the Saturday evening for those who wish to participate.
In order for us to go ahead with the trip, we require a minimum of 30 members to sign up. Please note that the costs below may increase slightly or decrease depending on final numbers.
Due to the financial logistics of organising a trip of this nature, we will require a £130 deposit at the time of submitting the booking form (via the link below) to secure your place. We really appreciate your understanding.
The booking form and deposit must be submitted by Wednesday 4th March at midday. (Please note, you DO NOT have to pay the 'Support Collctiv' fee!)
The deposit is non-refundable (unless we don't reach the required capacity; in which case, you will be refunded). The remaining balance (to be confirmed as soon as possible) will be due by Friday 31st July.
Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, although we reserve the right to offer places according to voice part to ensure we have a balanced choir for the performance.
SINGLE OCCUPANCY - £420
TWIN OCCUPANCY - £325 per person, based on two sharing
DOUBLE OCCUPANCY - £300 per person, based on two sharing
If you request twin occupancy, we will pair you with someone suitable if not specified.
